The Casual Dram: 15
The Casual Dram:15 - Sunday 26 January, 2.30pm, Mean Doses Taproom
Level 1, 66 Tory St (above Mabel’s), Te Aro, Wellington | $55pp
It’s time for another Casual Dram - and on this occasion, we’ll be looking at some fine examples of peat and sherry, that classic combo that’s right up there with beef and horseradish.
There’ll be peat from the mainland, peat from the quasi-island peninsula of Campbeltown and a mystery from one of Scotland’s western islands. How will these peaty drams differ from each other? Will the earthy mainland peat differ from the more maritime offerings? Will the two dunnage warehouse-matured Campbeltowns sing to a different tune? And lastly, will that deep, dark and sherried Springbank Local Barley live up to its billing (Whiskybase score of 89.30)? There’s only one way to find out!
Here’s the lineup…
