The Casual Dram:14 - Sunday 1 December, 2.30pm, Mean Doses Taproom
Level 1, 66 Tory St (above Mabel’s), Te Aro, Wellington | $50pp
It’s time for another Casual Dram - and this time we’ll taste five cask strength stunners courtesy of Signatory Vintage.
This will be another voyage into distillery style and cask influence with sherry, peat and bourbon all playing their part in drams from an exciting array of distilleries. Of course, to keep us on our toes, a fifth mystery will be lurking cheekily in the lineup - but don’t fear - it’s also a cask strength cracker from the Signatory Vintage stables.
Here’s the lineup
Blair Athol ‘Signatory Cask Strength Collection’ 12 Years Old 2008 54.4% - Refill hogsheads finished in a fresh sherry butt for 23 months
Caol Ila ‘Signatory Cask Strength Collection' 11 Years Old 2010-2022 57% - Refill hogshead finished in a fresh sherry butt for 20 months
Deanston 'Signatory Cask Strength Collection' 13 Years Old 2008 66.8% - First fill sherry butt
Benrinnes 'Signatory Cask Strength Collection' 11 Years Old 2012 58.8% - Dechar/Rechar Bourbon Hogsheads
